My First Post

Last weekend, I went to the fabric store and bought some new stuff. It was mostly out of the leftover bins, but that is the kind of stuff I actually end up using. I've had a recent obsession with scarves, and since I can't  actually bring myself to buy something so unnecessary(considering I already had a few), I started making them. At this point I already have 7, but I'm planning to make another one. Hopefully I'll have it started soon so I can share it. :)

Perfect Triangle Scarf

Okay, this is a different scarf that I actually made before the pants, but I love mine so much that I had to share it. I hope you like it!!!! I just couldn't resist when I saw the material. Its just so cute and so easy! By the way, I promise I'll get the camera soon and post pictures of my pants, and this scarf, and the skirt I've been working on, and have pics to help with the directions. All of my stuff will be so much better when I get it.

Supplies you will need:
half a yard of sheer material

INSTRUCTIONS

Cut a triangle piece of material with a long side of 42 inches and two short sides of 34 inches. Hem the long side. That will be the part you wrap around your neck and tie. Your all done!!

Yoga Pants!!

Okay, so the scarf thing is probably not gonna happen, because after i cut the material(of course), i realized that it was the worst shape ever. So, i made some pants. They turned out REALLY cute and super comfortable. And here is how:

Things you're going to need :
2 1/2 to 3 yards of black, cotton spandex material
1/2 yard of bright colored cotton spandex
an old pair of sweatpants or yoga pants that fit well

STEP 1

Take apart your old pair of sweatpants. I only actually took apart half(back and front), but I'm lazy.

STEP 2

For this step, either use the original pants as a pattern, or make one out of newspaper or tissue paper or brown grocery bags or whatever you have with you.
Pin the makeshift pattern onto the material and cut very close to the edge. Make 2 fronts and 2 backs.

STEP 3

Sew both front pieces together from the crotch point ,and up(2 times). Do the same to the back pieces

STEP 4

Pin and sew the inseam(2 times) But be sure to line up the crotch points before you pin.

STEP 5
Line up the top of the pants before pinning, and then sew twice each on the outside seams.

STEP 6--BELT

Cut colored material 7" by your hip measurement plus 1 1/2 inches.

STEP 7

Fold waist of pants 3 inches, and then pin.

STEP 8

Fold the colored material 1/2 inch on both long sides and pin, lining up the edge of the colored material with the folded waistband of the pants.

STEP 9

Fold the short edges and layer them on top of each other. Then sew very close to the edge, starting at the bottom. Turn, sew all the way around the top of the belt, turn and sew down the belt again, but about 1/2 inch away. Turn, and sew all the way around the bottom of the belt. knot and fasten off.

STEP 10--ANKLE HEM

Cut off any extra material of the bottom, making the seams strait. Fold the material 1 time, about an inch, Zig Zag all the way the way around. Fasten off. Do the same to the other ankle
